Health, safety, environment and quality are at the core of Mactech’s business objectives, operational management system and working culture throughout the company. Whether they are operating on an offshore lay-barge in Russia, or in their head offices in the UK, Mactech understands they are responsible for managing HSEQ as far as their remit and control extends.

Given Mactech are a service company and operate a number of different contracting relationships, they face many challenges to ensure they design, input and influence, particularly on overseas construction sites and clients. Since the year 2000, Mactech has developed, through ISO9001 and DNV HSE, a comprehensive management system that reflects these different operational environments in which they operate and work hand-in-hand with clients to ensure the highest level Health and Safety awareness and a minimal environmental impact at all times.

The company are aware that some of the site conditions that their personnel will experience are not a controlled environment and they cannot exercise ultimate control over day-to-day activities on a client’s site. Mactech will always ensure that recognised and acceptable Health & Safety regulations and standards are in place and monitor that they are being implemented.

Mactech’s aim is to train, educate and provide sufficient information so that employees will be able to make a fair and informed assessment of the inherent risks on different work sites. They will act accordingly with due care and consideration with suitable safety equipment. Where they perceive an unacceptable risk in their working environment they will receive management support to avoid or where feasible, reduce such risks to an acceptable level. Mactech are realistic enough to appreciate that, in the sectors they operate, there are risks which are unavoidable but they seriously believe that these can be reduced to minimum levels with positive attitudes from field operatives and management; with a client’s co-operation.
