    Mactech Engineering and Inspection are currently engaged on several projects with a world leading Mechanical and Electrical company which has significant experience across a wide selection of power generation and construction sectors. Due to winning a number of new projects, our Client is now seeking to bring on board Mechanical Engineers to work on the design and installation of the district heating systems.

    This role is a permanent position with a negotiable salary depending upon previous experience.

    The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:

    • Design and coordination of mechanical building services.
    • Management of the Design Process from Concept through to Construction stage
    • Preparation of reports and front end studies
    • Detail Design of Mechanical Building Services
    • Coordination of Mechanical Services with other trades
    • Working with Quality Control Systems
    • Execution of Design Reviews

    The ideal candidate for this role will have experience and qualifications in the follow:

    • Experience using 2D Autocad is essential.
    • Experience using 3D Autocad is advantageous but not essential.
    • Experience in dealing with customers and suppliers.
    • A degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
    • 5+ years previous experience mechanical / building construction
    • Experience in Data Centres / Industrial or Power would be advantageous
    • Previous experience working on industrial and pharmaceutical projects
    • Hevacomp & Autocad experience
    • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
    • Self motivating, and the ability to work well as part of a team
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong operational skills and an attention to detail
    • Ability to work under pressure and anticipate any problems

  • CDM Specialist

    North East England

    The CDM Specialist must have a construction management/supervision background with high competency in health and safety management. In addition, the CDM Specialist will have considerable experience interfacing with design or will have previously worked within a design function. The appropriate person will also have considerable knowledge of the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 and in particular the roles and duties under the “Principal Designer” and “Principal Contractor” roles. He or she will also be able to communicate at all levels and be confident in articulating the regulations in a training capacity to large groups of engineering and design professionals.

    The chosen candidate must have:

    • Sound working knowledge of CDM 2015 rules, regulations & legislation
    • Design experience or significant interface with the design functions
    • Site supervisory or management experience
    • Previously worked on design and construction projects
    • Previously worked in an industrial background such as chemicals, oil & gas, or power generation ideally UK based
    • Knowledge and understanding of NEBOSH, HAZOPS and Constructability Reviews

    Desirable skills:

    • Ideally worked within National Grid and power generation projects, in particular installation of HV cables in existing service corridors
    • Previously managed or working familiarity with CDM compliance, Construction Phase Plan and the Site Health & Safety File
    • Familiar with the role of Temporary Works Coordinator and BS5975:2008

    The successful person will be required to work in Madrid from time to time and will be required to prepare a training presentation package for presentation to all engineering, design and construction functions. As such he/she will be confident and articulate in presenting to large groups of professionals. He/she will also be required to work with the design and construction functions to provide working level guidance to ensure all aspects under the CDM duty holder positions are fully familiar communicated and compliant with the regulations.

  • CNC Turner

    We require a CNC Turner skilled in operating both CNC lathes and CNC vertical borers for a long term opportunity with our client based in Antwerp, Belgium starting mid-November.

    The control system used on both machines is Siemens. Candidates should be able to program, set and operate.

    Expectation is to work 40 to 50 hours per week.

    Candidates must hold a driving license and be willing to use their own vehicle to mobilise and commute on a daily basis.

    PAYE rates only. Ltd Co is not an option.

  • NDT Engineer (French Speaking)

    Mactech have an opportunity for a French speaking NDT Engineer with our client in the South of France.

    Position will be based in Aix en Provence.

    - To support our client’s French hub by providing NDT expertise in Projects and interventions on site : oil & gas, thermal and nuclear industries.
    - To support the our client’s French hub by providing expertise in all areas of NDT in France. Offering technical advice to customers and subcontractors through the range of projects and service delivery that undertake by the French Hub.
    - Provide field support to NDE activities that are taking place in region, this may be at PI / project management as well as implementation levels as occasionally required.
    - To act as PI or Principal investigator on both NDT projects and asset integrity management projects where significant NDT input is required.

    It is essential that the candidate holds UT Level 2 (EN9712), but preferred UT Level 3.

    The candidate would ideally be a French native speaker and fluent in English.

    This is a permanent salaried opportunity.
