***Field Engineer (Mechanical)***
***Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater***
***£375 – £500 per day depending on pay route + Overtime***

We are working for a substantial project that is building a new energy power station which is one of the UK’s largest construction projects. We currently require a Field Engineer to take responsibility for mechanical inspection relating to Construction Surveillance (Level 2). They will form part of a team with the primary role to oversee sub-contractors to ensure that HPC Quality needs, targets and expectations are realised.

The scope will cover all Works associated with the construction of the designated section of the Project and the successful candidate will perform surveillance on activities of the Works Contractors. This will include continuous, notified, and planned surveillance.

Responsibilities: –
• Ensure the Works are constructed in accordance with the contract
• Providing input during scoping, design, execution, and project closeout to ensure baseline documents are accurate, design documents are adhered to, and as-built configurations are verified.
• Identifying potential quality issues before they arise, coordinating technical solutions, and providing timely guidance to the constructor through approved procedures.
• Submit details of any non-conformance request requirements to assist in the issuing of non-conformance reports
• Contribute timely surveillance information to support KPI indicators
• Review Contractor performance against the Quality Control Plan

Required Experience: –
• A broad understanding of the main contractor’s activities relating to the delivery of the mechanical scope of works
• A demonstrated understanding of field engineering principles and have applied these principles on the job
• Proven ability of reading and understanding engineering design documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure their completeness and constructability, and writing accurate, concise, and relevant diaries.
• Demonstrated expertise in reading and understanding engineering design documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure their completeness and constructability.
• Track record in collaborative problem solving to resolve nuclear facility engineering issues in the field as the liaison between design engineers and the constructor.
• Experience in the installation and erection of large Mechanical projects including pipework, tanks, heat exchangers etc

Qualifications: –
• HND in a Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience
