Level 3 NDT Engineer (Ad-hoc)

£50 per hour
Our client are seeking a Level 3 NDT Engineer to support their activities in the UK.
Minimum Requirements (responsibilities include, but not limited to):
- Responsible directly to the Managing Director
- Responsible for undertaking the NDT Level III assessments under the ISO 17024 NDT Operator approval schemes.
- Undertake the activities of a NDT Assessor and Certifier
- Provide technical NDT support for the ongoing development and maintenance of the NDT Operator Schemes.
- Provide technical NDT support for inspection activities and technical investigations
- Support with technical training materials and delivery as necessary
- Support both internal and external audits
- General technical mentoring and quality support.
Professional Qualifications / Requirements
- Educated to Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience (NVQ level 4 or similar considered)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience of which 5 years were spent in a Level III NDT position with a focus on NDT engineering technology.
- Comprehensive understanding of the main codes and standards applicable to the area of responsibility including as a minimum; ISO9712, ASNT SNT-TC-1a and the 17000 series as applicable.
- Experience of developing, implementing, and managing NDT sector schemes within a client focused, professional service environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of current product codes and standards, design concepts and processes with a focus on joining and NDT techniques.
- Experienced in interpreting design drawings and specifications specifically related to NDT.
- A wide breadth and depth of knowledge of project management with proven skills in dealing with medium to high complexity and medium to high-risk key client facing projects through the strategic management of multidiscipline teams
- Experienced in taking a technical lead in providing authoritative advice, guidance, and arbitration on technical matters both internally and externally.
- Proven training, coaching, and mentoring for technical teams with key skills in resource planning and knowledge transfer.
- Experienced in the relevant administrative control process activities relating to NDT certification schemes, codes, and standards.
